Why you joined the Elizabeth Team?

Seeing my son smile at me every morning when I wake him up and his sweet cuddles are probably my greatest joys in life. I wanted to give some of my time to walk with women who might be struggling to decide if they can handle the demands of being a mom. I wanted to provide support and encouragement during a time of uncertainty and worry.

Short Bio:

Liz Bencivengo is an LPC and LMFT with an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. She counsels adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She particularly enjoys helping people who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, codependency, unwanted same-sex attraction and support to parents of youth with this issue, scrupulosity, obsessive/compulsive tendencies, marriage and relationship distress, anger management, forgiveness, first-time parents, self-esteem and self-worth, and stress management. Liz is fluent in Spanish and counsels from a family systems perspective integrating cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, Catholic mindfulness, and Gottman Couples Therapy techniques.

Prior to counseling, Liz spent sixteen years as a spiritual mentor for teenage girls and women. She lived in Mexico for seven years as a missionary with the Regnum Christi Movement.
